Agriculture is a billion dollar industry in San Diego County. There are, however, critical issues important to the industry's survival. As San Diego County grows and moves into the twenty-first century, agriculture must adapt to changing needs and demands to remain sustainable and successful. |

Through tourism, the public has an opportunity to experience San Diego County agriculture. This is not only beneficial economically

One of the best ways to directly experience San Diego County's freshest local produce is by visiting one of the Certified Farmers' Markets. These markets are certified by the State, ensuring that the
produce is being sold by the grower, is grown in California and meets all California quality standards.
"Protective Border Plantings for Ag/Urban Interfaces & Beneficial Insect Support" Agricultural practices have changed over time to become more efficient and produce larger yields.
As concerns for the environment have grown, the agricultural industry has responded with practices aimed at maintaining clean air, water, and soil. Environmental
