Planting

     Artichoke plants grown from seed in nursery flats are being prepared for transplanting into the field. These young plants will be carefully removed from the flats with soil and roots intact.

     Two individual artichoke transplants removed from nursery flats will be planted by hand into the field. Transplanting artichokes is a common production practice in southern California.
