Purpose/Interests of Organization: Since 1982, the Watershed Resources Management program has focused on wildland fire management and the planting of cover crops for erosion control.
In 1985, the Pesticide Contamination Prevention Act of 1985 created procedures for identifying and tracking groundwater contamination. Under this law, data has been collected on how pesticides behave in soil, established a statewide database of wells sampled for pesticides and published annual reports on detections.
